Which message do you see?
Choose a symptom. All branches are also available below.
The file cannot be parsed
First separate a completed APK from an unfinished transfer or another package format. Check the browser download status and the full filename. If the source provides a release requirement, compare it with your phone rather than guessing a minimum Android version from the app name.
Read the file-format guide if the file is an archive or a split-package set. Download help covers failed transfers.
Android rejects an update
Keep the existing app and its data while investigating. Record the installed version, attempted file and exact message. A different package or signing history may be involved; only the correct publisher release can resolve an identity mismatch.
Use the update checklist and prepare recovery details before considering removal.
The phone reports low storage
Review Android’s Storage view and decide which already-backed-up files or unused items you can remove. Do not use “clear app data” as a general installation fix. The installer may need working space in addition to the downloaded file.
A protection or administrator message appears
Keep the warning text and stop the installation attempt. A warning is not the same as a routine confirmation. Contact the publisher, device manufacturer or administrator for that message; do not disable protection or bypass a managed-phone policy.
The app installs, then closes
This is a launch problem rather than a completed-file problem. Record the model, Android version, installed app version and the screen where it closes. A restart is a low-impact check; preserve app data while getting publisher help.
Prepare a concise support note instead of repeatedly reinstalling.
